Episode 31
Comfort’s Corner: Julie Timm of GRTC Are fares truly fair?
This week is a special Comfort's Corner with a focus on access and equality in the transit system.
After this week's transit news, we hear from Julie Timm of the Greater Richmond Transit Company on how she is looking at how the fare system, might not be fair to the people who need and depend on it most. Julie's segment was taken from her Virtual ThinkTransit talk she gave on April 28th, 2021. In part three of Comfort's Corner, Paul talks about his new vision on the future of transit. Beyond technology to get people where they are going quickly and efficiently, Paul believes transit systems need to be fair and equitable to the people who need the system the most.
We also hear from Elea Carey in her Messaging Minute wrapping up her three-part series on email newsletters. Finally Mike's Minute we hear about a random act of kindness that had an unexpected outcome.
Next week, Paul welcomes Esmaeel Hasan Al Bloohsi from RAK Transport Authority.
Until then, have a great week and ride happy.
